SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium’s Education Program offers structured, curriculum‑aligned sessions designed for school and homeschool groups. Students explore Australia’s marine environments, including the Great Barrier Reef, shark tunnels, penguin habitats, and mangrove ecosystems. Educators lead sessions on adaptations, food webs, conservation, and human impact on oceans. The experience blends hands‑on observation with scientific inquiry, making it ideal for learners across primary and lower secondary levels. The aquarium’s immersive displays support visual learning, environmental awareness, and STEM engagement.
Biology
For Stages 1–4 (Years 1–10), this excursion supports Science outcomes by enabling students to investigate living things, their features, adaptations, and interactions within marine environments (ST1‑4LW‑S, ST2‑4LW‑S, ST3‑4LW‑S, SC4‑14LW). Students develop inquiry and observation skills through examining habitats, food webs, and environmental relationships (ST1‑1WS‑S, ST2‑1WS‑S, ST3‑1WS‑S). Geography outcomes are met as students explore natural environments, sustainability, and human impact on oceans (GE1‑1, GE2‑1, GE3‑1, GE4‑1). The program also supports Environmental Education by encouraging understanding of conservation and responsible stewardship of marine ecosystems (ST3‑10ES‑S, SC4‑12ES). Together, these outcomes build scientific literacy, environmental awareness, and critical thinking.
