Stage 2 (Years 3-4)

Hosted at Concord Library, this engaging school holiday session invites children to explore the world of clay sculpting in a relaxed, supportive, and screen-free environment. Guided by an experienced clay artist, participants will learn how to shape, mould, and personalise their own unique clay creations, using high-quality, non-toxic, eco-friendly materials.

Throughout the workshop, children are encouraged to experiment with:

  • Different shapes, textures, and patterns, developing their artistic style
  • Creative problem-solving, as they figure out how to bring their ideas to life
  • Fine motor skills, through rolling, pinching, and sculpting clay
  • Self-expression, by designing something entirely their own

The workshop promotes a calm, mindful, and engaging learning experience, allowing children to focus, create, and enjoy the process without pressure. It also fosters confidence and independence, as children make their own design choices and see their ideas take physical form.

All materials are provided, making it easy for children to fully immerse themselves in the experience. By the end of the session, each child will leave with a handmade clay creation and a sense of accomplishment, along with new creative skills they can continue to explore at home.

Importantly, this workshop supports holistic development, combining creativity with cognitive, physical, and social learning in a playful and enjoyable way.
