Dive into a creative and tactile art experience at this Skewer Sculptures Workshop designed for children aged 8 and up!
In this hands‑on session, participants explore how to transform simple materials—wooden skewers, clay, connectors, and other craft supplies—into imaginative 3D sculptures. Under the guidance of an experienced creative facilitator, children learn basic sculptural concepts such as balance, form, structure, proportion, and design. By experimenting with shapes, connections, and spatial arrangements, participants build confidence in their ability to turn ideas into physical creations.
The workshop encourages:
- Creative problem‑solving as children figure out how to make their sculptures stable and expressive
- Fine motor development through precise manipulation of materials
- Visual and spatial reasoning, considering how pieces fit together in three dimensions
- Self‑expression and aesthetic decision‑making, choosing colours, forms, angles, and materials
- Collaboration and communication when working alongside peers, sharing ideas, inspirations, and solutions
Skewer sculptures elevate learning beyond flat pictures and two‑dimensional activities — giving students a chance to think and make in 3D. Whether creating abstract forms, animals, imaginative characters, or geometric designs, participants leave with a personal sculpture and a sense of creative achievement.
