Kids Beginner Crochet Class

Date & Time: Saturday September 5, 2026 at 1:00 PM (AEST)

Venue: Butter Factory Arts & Crafts Inc. Barbarella Drive - Springwood

Welcome to Odd the Hook! I’m Janine, a self-confessed yarn addict who knows firsthand how exhausting the trap of perfectionism can be.

Join me for a fun, relaxed beginner class where absolutely no experience is necessary. This is a low-pressure creative space designed to help young makers learn the basics of crochet without the fear of getting it "wrong." Bring your curiosity, ditch perfection, and learn to love the creative process—lopsided stitches, mystery shapes, and all!

What We Will Cover

  • The Basics: Master how to comfortably hold your hook and manage yarn.
  • The Building Blocks: Get started with chains and single crochets.
  • The Creative Process: Learn how to embrace the weird, the wonky, and the mystery shapes as you find your own creative rhythm.

Key Details

  • Age Suitability: Ideally suited for creative children aged 10+.
  • Accompanying Adults: This is a shared experience! All young participants need an accompanying adult to stay, learn, and create right alongside them.
  • 1 Ticket = 1 Team: You only need to buy one ticket per child. This covers both the young learner and their accompanying adult, including yarn and hooks for you both to create together!
  • What to Bring? Nothing at all. All hooks, yarn, and supplies are fully included and ready for you to dive in.

Terms and Conditions

  • Small Groups = Firm Bookings: Because classes are strictly limited to allow for lots of hands-on guidance, every spot matters.
  • 3-Day Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or rescheduling requests require at least 3 days' notice before the class starts to receive a credit or refund.
  • Arrivals: Classes start strictly on time so we can cover the basics together. Please arrive 5 minutes early to find your seat.
  • Sickness Policy: If your child is unwell, please keep them home to protect our small group. Contact me as soon as possible to discuss moving your booking.
  • Our Space: This is a calm, supportive environment. We expect all participants—both kids and grown-ups—to treat each other with kindness.
  • Safety Credentials: Janine holds a current, verified QLD Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and full Public Liability Insurance.
